Golf Instructor
Position Overview
The Golf Instructor at GGA plays a key role in coaching and developing players of all ages and skill levels. This position involves creating customized lesson plans, conducting individual and group lessons, providing personalized coaching, and implementing training programs. The instructor contributes to the growth of the academy by delivering high-quality golf instruction. As needed, this role will also support the implementation of curriculum and training plans for the junior golf programs.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction, Coaching & Player Development
- Support the design and consistent delivery of the GGA instructional training program.
- Assist in implementing structured junior golf curriculum and training plans that incorporate games-based learning to create an engaging and enjoyable experience.
- Develop lesson plans tailored to individual skill levels and development goals.
- Provide personalized instruction on core golf techniques—full swing, chipping, and putting—to players of all ages and skill levels, individually or in groups.
- Leverage technology and training aids to provide data-driven insights and feedback.
- Support and lead group clinics, workshops, and specialized training sessions.
- Conduct player assessments to evaluate skill levels, tailor personalized training plans and objectives, and pair them with the right instructor based on their learning style and goals.
- Track player development and progress, providing constructive feedback, encouragement, and actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Offer guidance on course management, club selection, game etiquette, and rules of play.
- Provide support in mental conditioning and physical training to improve overall performance, while collaborating with staff to enhance fitness initiatives.
- Support the development of GGA player pathway curriculum into the junior program.
- Assist with the delivery of reward and incentive-based assessments to help junior players earn achievement pins and advance to the next level (e.g., U.S. Kids pin test).
Facility & Equipment Management
- Ensure training areas and simulators are properly maintained, calibrated, and set up ahead of each session.
- Collaborate with staff to integrate training tools into instruction, assist in maintaining and updating instructional materials, and recommend enhancements to improve program delivery.
- Enforce safety and security protocols to protect the facility, equipment, and all occupants, ensuring a safe and professional environment at all times.
Client Engagement & Academy Promotion
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment that builds confidence and fosters a love for the game.
- Stay current with the latest golf industry trends, teaching techniques, and technology to continuously enhance instruction quality.
- Foster strong client relationships to promote repeat business, referrals, and long-term engagement, while actively supporting junior player recruitment and retention through effective management of student lists and outreach efforts.
- Represent GGA at community outreach events, tournaments, and marketing events to expand visibility and attract new clients.
- Collaborate with peers, management, and the marketing team to develop, package, and promote lesson offerings and academy programs.
- Support academy operations by assisting with events, clinics, youth programs, and other initiatives as directed by management.
- Contribute to client growth by building a personal client base and fostering long-term relationships to grow lesson bookings and sales.
Qualifications
- College degree preferred.
- Class A PGA Professional in good standing.
- PGA American Development Model (ADM) certification required.
- U.S. Kids certification required.
- Proven experience as a golf instructor or teaching professional.
- In-depth knowledge of swing mechanics, instructional techniques, training methods, and the rules and etiquette of golf.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with players of all ages, skill level, and backgrounds.
- Ability to clearly communicate player progress to parents by demonstrating their child’s development, helping to encourage continued enrollment in the program.
- Proficient in the use of advanced golf technology and swing analysis tools, leveraging data to deliver personalized, performance-driven instruction.
- Patient, encouraging, and motivational, with a passion for helping players develop and reach their goals.
- Demonstrated commitment to exceptional service and continuous player improvement.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Physical Abilities
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and perform physical demonstrations as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Work Schedule
