The Sage Lizards Beginner Journey is designed for young players taking their first swings. We focus on building solid fundamentals while making golf engaging and approachable. Every session blends skill-building with fun, so kids develop a love for the game while learning the right way from the start.

From putting to chipping and pitching, juniors learn how to control the clubface, manage distance, and make solid contact to get the ball close from anywhere around the green.

We focus on balanced, repeatable body movements, proper sequencing, and swing mechanics that create consistent ball flight and lasting confidence.
Rules, Terms & Etiquette
Players gain a working knowledge of golf’s essential language, beginner-friendly rules, and on-course etiquette so they can feel comfortable and prepared in any playing environment.
On-Course Play & Testing
Through friendly skill challenges and guided play scenarios, juniors practice applying what they’ve learned while building focus, adaptability, and the ability to perform under light pressure.

At Gretsch Golf Academy, the Sage Lizards Junior Beginner Golf Journey is built for kids ages 5–12 who are taking their very first swings. This structured journey introduces players to the fundamentals of putting, chipping, and full swing, while building confidence through progress milestones and team support. Instead of drop-in lessons, juniors train in a rotational format that blends bays, the short game zone, and our multipurpose space—keeping every session active, engaging, and fun. With a low 4:1 player-to-coach ratio, each child gets focused instruction while developing alongside peers in a true team environment. The journey also includes rules, etiquette, and mindset training so players grow both on and off the course. Starting with a Player Assessment ensures every junior is placed at the right level, and ongoing 4-week sessions give them a clear, rewarding path to progress until they move into the Intermediate Journey.
